About the Role We are looking for an AI Architect to define, evolve, and operationalize our AI strategy across the engineering organization. This role blends technical leadership, handson architecture, product partnership, and organizational influence. You will work closely with Product Management and Engineering Leadership to ensure AI is used consistently, effectively, and strategically across six product engineering teamswhile encouraging experimentation and innovation within the teams to collaborate on finding the best solutions. This is not a research role. Were looking for a builder and systems thinker who can translate emerging AI capabilities into scalable, productionready solutions. What Youll Do Strategy & Vision Define the long-term AI vision and technical direction for the productPartner with Product Management to influence product strategy and roadmapIdentify opportunities where AI can meaningfully improve customer value Architecture & Technical Leadership Design and review architectures and system designsEstablish standards and best practices for AI developmentCoordinate AI technologies and tooling across teamsGuide decisions around build vs. buy vs. opensource adoption Research, Experimentation & Enablement Lead research and experimentation into new AI technologiesEvaluate emerging tools, models, and platformsDrive education through documentation, workshops, and mentorship Organizational Influence Influence without direct authority across multiple teamsDrive alignment and adoption of AI standardsLead change management for new tools and approaches HandsOn Contribution Stay close to the code and models when neededSupport teams with prototyping, troubleshooting, and architectural decisionsHelp modernize legacy AI systems and address technical debt Technology Stack Cloud: GCP (primary), AWSAI/ML: Transformers, embedding, model distillation, open classifier models for images, video, and structured dataMLOps and model lifecycle managementHugging Face ecosystemInfrastructure: TPUs, NPUs, GPUs, CPUs (inference), GPUs (training) What Were Looking For 810+ years of experience in software and AI systems developmentExperience as a Staff/Principal Engineer, CTO, VP Engineering, or similarStrong architectural and system design skillsProven ability to influence and lead across teamsHandson experience with production AI systems at scaleStrong communication and teaching skillsExperience in small to midsized organizations preferred Security Requirements Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;Be willing to comply with Solinks own security policies and standards.
