In this critical role, you will oversee all aspects of land-use planning, long-range development, and development approvals. You will provide strategic direction, manage a professional team, and play a key role in shaping the future of the client. Responsibilities: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Community Planning Division. Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of planning professionals. Formulate and revise policies and procedures related to planning and development. Prepare and manage the Division''s annual budget. Oversee major planning initiatives, including Official Plans and Secondary Plans. Communicate effectively with developers, investors, and the community. Provide expert planning advice to councils, committees, and other authorities. Required Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive experience in professional planning within a municipal setting. 5+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation in Ontario, or actively working towards obtaining one. Full membership or eligibility for full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP). Strong knowledge of Ontario planning legislation, regulations, and best practices. Proven leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Excellent communication, written and verbal, with experience presenting to public forums. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in project management principles and practices. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven recommendations. Must possess a clear police record.
