Title: House Manager & Family Assistant Employment Type: Part-time (15 hours/week) Proposed Start Date: ASAP Compensation: $2530/hour, based on experience, paid on payroll Requirements: Non-smoker, valid driver''s license with reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed for errands), up-to-date vaccinations (COVID & Flu), able to pass a background check About Us We are a busy family of three living centrally in Edmonton (T6G 1A4), near the university and across the river from downtown. We have one daughter (age 9) and a senior cat (16 years old) who requires regular vet visits every 3 months. Both parents are physicians with demanding work hours. We love our neighborhood, which is walkable and close to our daughter''s school and before/after school care program. Without extended family nearby, we are looking for a reliable and proactive House Manager to provide household support and help our home run smoothly. Schedule Preferred availability: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 125 pm 23 days per week, approx. 15 hours/week, not Thursdays Flexibility for occasional evenings (childcare for date nights or hockey games) valued Key Responsibilities Household Management & Organization Maintain organization systems across the home (closets, storage, pantry, mudroom, garage). Reset and tidy main rooms daily; prep the home for weekly cleaning service. Manage seasonal transitions: clothing swaps, holiday dcor, guest prep. Track and rotate items in kitchen and pantry (dispose of expired goods). Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs/pickups. Support packing/unpacking for family travel. Inventory Management & Errands Track household supplies (pantry, fridge, toiletries). Shop for groceries (prioritizing fresh produce, gluten-free essentials for celiac dietary needs). Manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, etc.). Run errands: dry cleaning, returns, gift shopping, farmers'' market trips. Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries. Mileage reimbursed for errands. Meal Preparation Prep foods (wash/chop vegetables and ingredients for meals, batch cook basics like hard boiled eggs, freezer meals). Grocery shop for fresh ingredients and pantry restock. Follow dietary needs: gluten-free meals are essential. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen. One family member is gluten free but it is not a gluten free household. Laundry & Linen Care Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry. Iron and steam clothing; prepare outfits as needed. Rotate and refresh linens and towels. Keep laundry area tidy and stocked. Pet Care Schedule and coordinate quarterly vet visits for cat. Ensure pet supplies are stocked and organized. Vendor & Property Oversight Schedule/supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers). Research, coordinate, and oversee maintenance and repairs. Manage seasonal resets (e.g., garage organization). Family Support & Child Assistance Provide occasional backup childcare (e.g., school pick-up, playdates). Support date nights with evening babysitting. Assist with school-related prep (clothing, gear, lunch coordination if needed). Deep Cleaning & Special Projects Tackle deep-cleaning projects (fridge, oven, cupboards, baseboards). Clean humidifiers, washing machines, air purifiers monthly. Manage seasonal organizing (holiday dcor, sports gear, storage).
