About The Launch Pad The Launch Pad is a supportive housing and transition program for youth and young adults (ages 1624) navigating independence after involvement with child intervention, disability services, or other systems. The program combines safe housing, life-skills support, structured programming, and community partnerships to promote stability, dignity, and long-term success. Position Summary The Youth Support & Community Engagement Worker is a frontline role supporting youth through life-skills coaching, facilitation of structured programs, and relationship-building with community partners and referring agencies. This position is non-clinical and focuses on practical support, program facilitation, and engagement. Key Responsibilities Youth Support & Life Skills Build respectful, supportive relationships with youth using a trauma-informed and strength-based approach Support youth with practical life skills, including daily routines, budgeting, meal planning, appointments, transportation, and goal-setting Provide support to youth with diverse needs, including youth with developmental, cognitive, mental health, or physical disabilities Model healthy communication, boundaries, and independent living skills Complete brief, objective documentation and activity records as required Program Facilitation & Delivery Facilitate structured programs and activities, such as: Life-skills and independent living workshops Education and employment readiness sessions Wellness, recreation, and social connection activities Support program preparation, delivery, and follow-up Encourage participation and adapt facilitation approaches to meet diverse learning and accessibility needs Provide feedback on program effectiveness and youth engagement Community Outreach & Engagement Build and maintain respectful working relationships with referring agencies, community organizations, and service providers Support outreach efforts, referral coordination, and information-sharing Represent The Launch Pad Housing Program professionally and respectfully in community settings Team & Program Support Maintain a safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful environment Follow all program policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements Participate in supervision, training, and team meetings Communicate risks, concerns, and successes to program leadership in a timely manner Education & Experience Requirements Currently enrolled in or completed post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., social work, child and youth care, human services, psychology, education, disability studies, or a related discipline) - Post-secondary students are welcome to apply Experience working with youth and/or adults with disabilities Experience working with youth involved with child intervention, housing instability, or other support systems is an asset Experience facilitating groups or youth programs is an asset Cultural Competency & Inclusion Demonstrated respect for Indigenous Peoples, cultures, and ways of knowing Willingness to engage in ongoing learning related to Indigenous cultural safety, anti-racism, and reconciliation Experience working with Indigenous youth or communities is an asset Additional Requirements Clear Vulnerable Sector Check Clear Child Intervention Record Check Valid First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain) Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality Why Join The Launch Pad Housing Program Meaningful, community-based work with youth Hands-on experience facilitating programs and supporting life-skills development Flexible scheduling suitable for post-secondary students Supportive supervision and clear role expectations Opportunity to grow within an expanding program How to Apply Please submit a resume and a brief cover note describing your interest in youth support, program facilitation, and community engagement to Job Type: Part-time Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 10 40 per week Work Location: In person
