LOCATION: Winnipeg, Altona, Remote SCHEDULE: Full-Time REPORTS TO: Manager, Commercial and Farm Products DIRECT REPORTS: N/A PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Product Specialist, Commercial and Farm Products at Red River Mutual is responsible for the maintenance, enhancement, development, and implementation of Commercial and Farm Products. This includes researching, creating and developing wordings, underwriting guidelines/rules, product qualifications and rating tools. Collaborating with various departments, developing and managing relationships with stakeholders (both internal and external) to support the company''s growth, innovation and underwriting profitability. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: Product Management Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the product portfolio. Ensure product development aligns with company goals and customer needs. Track and analyze product performance using sales data, customer feedback and market trends. Adjust products to improve profitability and customer satisfaction. Ensure products comply with regulations, standards and reinsurance contracts. Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends and competitive landscape. Develop new products and features based on data and research findings, including development of wordings, underwriting guidelines and rules. Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, sales and IT teams to ensure timely delivery of new and updated products. Collaborate with marketing teams on product launch and communication plans Provide training and support to sales, underwriters, and broker teams for successful product rollouts. Corporate Underwriting Establish and train on risk acceptance criteria aligned with market trends, regulations, and profitability goals. Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines and policies, including periodic data-driven reviews. Provide oversight on insurance policies, ensuring optimal coverage and compliance. Ensure consistency and compliance with underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures across regions. Use data analytics to assess risk, identify trends and make informed decisions. Stay informed about regulatory changes and ensure alignment and compliance. Perform regular reviews of underwriting files for compliance and improvement. Train underwriters on best practices, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Policy Center Management Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements to identify and implement innovative feature enhancements to Guidewire Policy Center. Track and optimize Guidewire Policy Center performance, focusing on user adoption, system efficiency, and business impact. System Functionality (Policy Center) improvements; gathering and defining business requirements, ensuring that they align with system capabilities, reducing system defects and collaborating with IT to ensure system interface design supports successful implementation. Develop and deliver training programs, providing ongoing support to users and stakeholders. Stakeholder Collaboration Collaborate with various departments to ensure product and underwriting success. Manage relationships with external partners for smooth operations. Prepare the organization for product, underwriting, and Policy Center changes, helping manage adoption and minimize resistance. Gather and integrate feedback from internal and external stakeholders to improve products and underwriting. Act as liaison between business units and technical teams for clear communication of changes and goals. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 7 to 10 years'' experience in underwriting;in commercial or farm/agriculture sector. Degree in business, agriculture or related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience. Superior Strong analytical, research & communication skills. High attention to detail and organization. Able to work both independently and collaboratively with key stakeholders. Experience in policy wording and/or product development and refinement an asset. Knowledge or experience with Guidewire Suite of Insurance Software an asset. General insurance knowledge, including working towards or completed a CIP designation or equivalent education an asset.
