Our state-of-the-art facilities utilize advanced technology to ensure consistency and quality while meeting the evolving needs of our consumers and customersJob OverviewWe are seeking a Junior Buyer to join our Corporate Purchasing Team based in Cambridge, Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, proactive, comfortable with numbers, and eager to grow within Procurement. The Junior Buyer will support indirect procurement projects, conduct cost and spend analysis, and assist with strategic sourcing for both direct and indirect materials, while maintaining accurate material and vendor master data in SAP.Working closely with Buyers for Packaging and Ingredients, this role supports operations and engineering teams, prepares RFQs/RFPs, validates pricing, resolves invoice issues, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across the business. This position offers hands-on exposure to strategic sourcing, negotiations, and vendor management in a fast-paced, supportive environment, with the opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop into a full Buyer role while directly supporting operational success.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Procurement & Analysis (Primary ~80%)Develop, prepare, and analyze RFQs/RFPs for indirect categories in support of the Senior Buyer Conduct cost comparisons, track savings, and support strategic sourcing decisions.Analyze indirect spend reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.Process invoices and resolve pricing discrepancies by investigating PO, invoice, and vendor issues.Evaluate supplier performance and escalate issues when needed.Monitor market conditions (pricing, supply disruptions, trends) to support purchasing decisions.Participate in cross-functional projects that improve processes and procurement efficiency.Maintain procurement trackers (contracts, spend, projects, savings, samples, freight, etc.).SAP Master Data & Purchasing Support (Secondary ~20%)Maintain accurate vendor master, material master, and Purchase Info Records (PIRs) in SAP.Create new Material/Part Numbers or extension, update specifications, and ensure data accuracy for the team.Update Packaging and Ingredients volume forecasts for Buyers as needed.Assist with new vendor setup packages and compliance documentation.Support Operations, Engineering, and R&D teams with data validation and purchasing requirements.Provide general administrative support to the Procurement team when required.Qualifications2+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in food, CPG, or manufacturing.Strong analytical ability and intermediateadvanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).Experience with SAP or another ERP system.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Clear and professional communication skills (written & verbal).Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimum guidance.Ability to take initiative, follow through, and work proactively.High ethical standards and strong work ethics.Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related discipline.Experience supporting procurement categories.Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to operations and production workflows.Additional Information:Total Rewards Package: Our Total Rewards package reflects the investment we make in our employees to help them and their families achieve their well-being goals.
