With operations across the U.S. and Canada and continued expansion ahead, this is an opportunity to join a growing, values-driven organization.Position SummaryThe Packaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily packaging and inventory operations, leading Packaging and Inventory Leads and Support staff, and ensuring all production goals, quality standards, and compliance requirements are met. This role is highly hands-on and requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.The Packaging Supervisor partners closely with Production and Management teams, supports hiring and training efforts, and helps develop and enforce standard operating procedures. Flexibility in scheduling is required.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise packaging employees and assist with planning, assigning, and directing daily workEnsure packaging teams are trained on and adhere to current SOPs and compliance standardsOversee team scheduling and workflow delegation throughout each shiftConduct employee reviews in alignment with company timelines and proceduresManage daily packaging operations to meet production quotas and deadlinesSupport management with packaging schedule planningMaintain clean, sanitary, and safe packaging operationsCollaborate with the Production Manager on SOP development and process improvementsMaintain and verify inventory of packaging suppliesComplete and submit required reports accurately and on timeMonitor quality through ongoing QA/QC checks during packagingEnsure labels, stickers, and packaging materials are accurate, compliant, and legibleMaintain accurate documentation across systems including CTLS and internal recordsCommunicate quality, safety, or inventory discrepancies to leadershipTrain and coach Packaging Support staff on procedures, techniques, and compliance protocolsEnsure proper storage of consumables and food products in accordance with safety standardsRecommend improvements related to personnel performance, training, and operational efficiencyPerform additional duties as needed based on business needsQualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment (food, beverage, or CPG preferred)At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experienceProven ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and quality standardsComfortable using basic computer programs (Google Sheets, Google Docs)Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Slack, Jira, or similar platforms preferredStrong verbal and written communication skills in EnglishBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)Ability to manage confidential informationMust be 19 years of age or older (provincial requirement)WorkSafe, ServSafe, Food Handlers, or FOODSAFE Level 1 certification preferredWillingness to complete a background checkAbility to obtain and maintain all required permits, licenses, and certificationsOccasional travel between buildings or sites may be requiredAbout VangstVangst is the cannabis industrys hiring platform.
