Job Description

About Analyst3Analyst3 is a vertical AI company building an investment banking team in a box to help small M&A advisory teams scale their operations without adding headcount. Our long-term vision is to compress deal timelines from months to days by turning the craft of M&A into AI-powered software. Were a VC-backed, early-stage, Toronto-based startup working at the intersection of M&A, AI, and vertical SaaS.Youd be joining a small founding team with deep experience across M&A, AI, and go-to-market. Youll play a central role in defining what good M&A work looks like inside our platform, and in translating that judgment into AI-powered workflows that scale. This role is designed to grow into a senior leadership position as the company scales.Learn more at https://analyst3.ai/.What Youll DoTranslate real-world M&A workflows into AI-powered workflows by helping design, test, and refine highly specialized AI agents.Define and uphold the quality bar for how our AI analysts support M&A advisors, starting with deal sourcing and origination (list building, outreach, follow-ups, meeting prep), and expanding into pitch decks, CIMs and related workflows over time.Act as a human-in-the-loop early on - reviewing outputs, handling edge cases, and protecting customer reputation - with the explicit goal of removing yourself from the loop as workflows become repeatable and automated.Work directly with customers (senior M&A advisors and business brokers) on live deal sourcing efforts to validate product decisions, quality standards, and workflow design.Partner closely with engineering and founders to shape product direction, ensuring we focus on problems that materially impact mandate wins, show rates, and trust with business owners.Identify patterns in customer feedback and execution and help turn them into rules, guardrails, and product requirements.Who You AreIdeal Experience3 to 6 years of total professional experience, with at least 1 to 2 years in investment banking (or a closely related M&A advisory role) with hands-on exposure to lower middle market or middle market deals.Direct experience with deal sourcing and origination, including target list building, outbound outreach, buyer network activation, and early-stage conversations with business owners.Strong experience reviewing and improving M&A materials (e.g., pitch decks, CIMs, teasers), with a clear sense of what credible looks like.Experience reviewing and setting standards for junior analyst work (people or systems).Bonus: experience at an early-stage startup or in a highly unstructured environment.Mindset & SkillsStrong judgment and taste for what good M&A work looks like - and the ability to explain why something works or doesnt.Comfortable with ambiguity, iteration, and extreme ownership.Interested in AI and LLMs, and excited by the idea of teaching systems to do high-quality work.Able to work confidently with senior bankers.Based in Toronto or willing to relocate; values close, in-person collaboration during the early stages. Why Join Analyst3Help define how AI-powered M&A actually works - not in theory, but in production.Apply your deal experience to building software, not just executing one-off mandates.Work on a real, high-stakes problem in business succession and lower middle market M&A.Join a small, ambitious team where your judgment directly shapes the product.Equity ownership in a VC-backed company building toward a category-defining outcome. How to ApplySend an email to [email protected] with:Your resumeA short summary of your M&A experience (deal types, sectors, typical deal sizes)A brief example of a time your judgment materially changed an outcome (good or bad), and what you learned
