EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Medical Transportation Referral Coordinator Part Time PositionThompson, MB The Medical Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of medical transportation services for the community members of the MKO affiliated First Nation; and ensure the FNIHB Medical Transportation Directive is implemented. Serve as a point of contact via phone or in person for the community members for health benefits. Casual 32 hours per week shifts of day or evenings 8 hours or 10 hours for nightshift to meet operational requirements. Role and Responsibilities Maintains computer records for Medical Transportation and Health Benefits Programs. Schedules and coordinates the most economical medical transportation trip by booking taxis, flight arrangements or other travel (i.e. Bus or Train) and informs clients of arrangements. Liaison with providers for booking accommodation as needed. Prepares and records document requests on MTRS (Medical Transportation Referral System). Adhering to confidentiality and handling private and sensitive matters and documents with discretion and tact. Conflict resolution for handling difficult situations and or persons. Working with minimal supervision. Making decisions within the Medical Transportation Unit using sound judgement. Performs other duties as assigned that is related to role. MKO is political advocacy organization that works to represent the leadership and member First Nations. All staff at MKO may be given other duties as assigned that enable MKO to fulfill the mandate and responsibility to its member communities. Education and Experience Grade 12 or equivalent. Experience of knowledge of non-insured health benefits. Experience working within a First Nations Organization and worked with First Nation clients. Skilled with office equipment, computers and various software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel Ability to work independently. Ability to effectively manage time. Satisfactory criminal record, child and adult abuse registry and vulnerable sector check. Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
