Senior Business Systems Analyst (Securities) Location: Greater Toronto Area, Canada Salary range: CA$75,000.00 CA$125,000.00 Employment type: Full-time Seniority level: Entry level Job function: Information Technology Industries: IT Services and IT Consulting Position Description This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office and/or client office for a minimum of two days per week, subject to change at any time. The Senior Systems Business Analyst is the primary liaison among business and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems that satisfy business objectives on missioncritical projects. The Senior Business Analyst manages and communicates those requirements throughout the project life cycle and provides guidance and expertise to other team members through coaching and mentoring. Experience working on a diverse variety of projects, both large and small, as the lead Business Analyst throughout the project/development lifecycle is required. Looking for an individual with experience with Canadian dealer backoffice systems in addition to in-depth knowledge of the dealer account transfer process for North American securities deposited in CDS and DTCC. Your Future Duties and Responsibilities Elicit, analyze, validate and communicate business, functional and quality of service requirements using BABOK methods and techniques including process workflow diagrams, User Stories, wireframes, and/or BRDs as required. Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose highlevel information into details, abstract up from lowlevel technical information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs. Work with project sponsors to ensure requirements are aligned to business objectives. Prepare and deliver presentations to business and technology units, customers, industry forums, senior management and executives, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience. Participate in industry working groups or councils and lead discussions to define requirements for enhancements or changes to industry standards. Within the agile delivery team, represent the needs of the business and stakeholders by clarifying and answering questions related to the requirements and build user stories in line with those needs as applicable. Work in close partnership with the Product Owner to refine requirements and user stories, ensuring alignment with the product vision, roadmap and backlog priorities. Internal and External Support Support internal and external customers throughout all phases of the project. Testing Coordinate enduser acceptance testing (UAT) on projects as needed by creating a test plan, documenting test cases, and supporting enduser testers during test execution, recording test results and reporting issues/defects as they arise. Required Qualifications to Be Successful in This Role 8+ years of experience working in a BSA capacity. University degree (business or computer science) or equivalent work experience. Indepth knowledge of dealer account transfer process for North American securities held on CDS or DTCC. Experience working with and/or indepth knowledge of the ATON transfer system. Knowledge or experience with the DTCC ACATS transfer system is an asset. Knowledge or experience with mutual fund or securities dealer backoffice systems (e.g., Broadridge BPS). Knowledge of CANNEX and GIC account transfer process is an asset. Experience working on Scrum Agile teams as a BA and/or Product Owner documenting epics and detailed user stories with the ability to breakdown stories to a consumable size within a sprint and distinguish between backend and frontend requirements. Experience leading and supporting Scrum Agile ceremonies (Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demos, etc.). Proven ability to control scope, including negotiating and accounting for scope creep, documenting changes, and managing expectations across stakeholder groups. Technical Skills & Knowledge Experience with JIRA and Confluence. Experience creating API documentation on developer portals. Experience creating JSON schemas (asset). Experience with Swagger Hub (asset). Experience with FIGMA (asset). Understanding of various requirements analysis and modeling techniques. Soft Skills Strong analytical, critical thinking and writing skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into functional and operational requirements. Facilitation and presentation skills. Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners. Ability to work independently under time constraints. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Ability to identify and adjust details/messaging to align with stakeholder group knowledge and interests (developer vs industry vs sponsor). Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications.
