The Building Great Neighbourhoods Infrastructure Delivery section is looking for a talented team-oriented Engineering Program Manager to lead and be involved in managing the delivery of a program of Neighbourhood infrastructure projects including Alley Renewal, Neighbourhood Renewal and Neighbourhood Rehabilitation. BGN projects encompass many types of infrastructure including road, sidewalk, utilities, trails, bike routes, busways, parking lots, playgrounds, park improvements and community led open space projects. As the Engineering Program Manager, your primary objective is to lead and manage a small team of Project Managers in delivering a program of projects. The Engineering Program Manager is a key member of the section leadership team and plays a significant role in guiding the Branch towards successfully fulfilling their mandate within the Integrated Infrastructure Services Department. What will you do? Lead the planning, budgeting, administration, and assignment of projects within the program, maximizing internal resource utilization Develop and implement unit processes, tracking performance measures to ensure successful project delivery Adhere to Project Management methodology and policies, and manage, track, and report project and program progress, including Council reporting Manage program budgets, outcomes, and provide support in pursuing appropriate funding sources and approvals Coordinate requirements with business partners, stakeholders, and project teams; and maintain strategic relationships across the IIS Department and with external partners Monitor and manage program risks and support Project Managers in resolving issues with appropriate escalation Apply a systems-thinking approach to manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently Lead, establish, and exemplify the desired culture, and ensure staff are held accountable to corporate and departmental values Mentor and coach staff, including EITs and Project Managers, to foster continuous improvement and development Ensure Project Managers are empowered and equipped with the necessary competencies, tools, and equipment Provide engineering leadership for program success, offering expert technical input, and reviewing/approving consultants'''' planning and design work Translate section strategy into operational processes, contribute to the continuous improvement of project management practices, and ensure compliance with policies Qualifications Bachelor''''s Degree in Engineering from a recognized institute Minimum of 7 years experience in engineering/project management Must be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA, in good standing. Applicants in a different Canadian jurisdiction eligible for Inter-Provincial Mobility (IPMA) with APEGA may be considered.
