The Traffic Engineering Co-op will work with a dynamic team of traffic engineering / transportation planning professionals on a variety of projects including municipal traffic signal coordination, transit operation studies, traffic modelling, traffic impact studies, road safety analysis, and highway planning studies. Job responsibilities Job responsibilities will vary depending on the strengths of the potential candidate and opportunities available but will generally include: Traffic Operations Analysis Field Surveys / Observations Traffic Impact / Development Studies Signal Optimization / Traffic Signal Coordination Transit Operation Studies Microsimulation (Vissim/Aimsun) Safety / Collision Analysis Data Processing and Analytics Graphic / Mapping Required Skills: Technical writing skills Knowledge of traffic / transportation analysis tools would be an asset: such as Synchro, Vissim, Aimsun, EMME, Legion, and ArcGIS. Knowledge in data analytic tools would be an asset: Python, SQL, Microsoft Azure, AWS Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program Attention to detail Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills Basic Microsoft Office skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
