Calgary Office, 505 3rd St SW, Calgary, Alberta, Canada Job Description Posted Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 7:00 a.m. Job Summary: The employee plans and oversees MPD engineering projects from inception to completion, requiring technical expertise in MPD applications to execute on challenging wells. The Jr. MPD Specialist role requires a high level of flexibility, including 24/7 availability to support operational needs and participation in rotational shift schedules based on project demands. In addition, you will be expected to travel to and work in the field periodically, supporting onsite MPD operations and collaborating with field crews as needed. This role is designed for individuals who are adaptable, responsive, and comfortable working in dynamic, fieldbased environment Key Responsibilities: Understands customer requests and challenges that require MPD solutions. Responsible for conducting offsets analysis and engineering due diligence required to develop MPD solutions to customer problems Analyze prespecified hydraulics scenarios by running hydraulic models Understands MPD equipment selection, operation and configuration Develop MPD training materials and coordinate and conduct MPD training, if necessary, for office and rig personnel Schedule postwell evaluations and afteraction analysis meetings Report results related to the well and MPD objectives Responsible for documenting engineering and operational lessons learned and best practices Establish positive client relationships across all organizational levels to advocate for MPD solutions Prepare recommendations for improvements to the MPD system and operations Calculate pressure drops through interconnecting piping equipment Develop rig drawings showing the location of MPDrelated rig equipment, piping tiein points, and rig zone ratings of the area selected for MPD equipment Develop kickresponse scenarios related to the MPD system capabilities (MPD Well Control Matrix) Coordinate and review HAZOP/HAZID Review operator safety cases and modifying for projectspecific applications Develop the procedural and training requirements related to the well objectives and MPD applications, HAZID/HAZOP awareness, MPD operations, MPD procedures, and HSE for MPD Experience, Education & Qualifications: REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent engineering degree and relevant experience 0 - 5+ years of experience in engineering or applications roles Demonstrated ability in project management Ability to work on rotation 28/28 or alternative cycle PREFERRED: Proficiency in strategic planning and implementation Expertise and background in well design and planning, encompassing casing design, BHA design, and cementing design Whos B.E.S.T?
