Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Finance has the technical expertise and operational mindset to be a strategic and operational partner to the executive team, providing financial leadership and insight to drive operational efficiency, cost control, and sustainable growth. This role oversees all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, tax, treasury, risk management, cost accounting, and analysis to support decision-making in a fast-paced production context. The Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in developing the systems and processes necessary to support world-class production and ensure sustained profitability during a period of accelerated growth. Acting as a trusted financial advisor, the Director, Finance will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial operations and drive continuous improvement through providing value insights and data on which the leaders can make strategic operational decisions. Additionally, the role oversees financial reporting, compliance and strategic financial analysis to support long-term business objectives. Key Responsibilities Operational & Financial Strategy Lead the development and execution of financial strategies that align with operational goals and the company''s strategic plan. Partner closely with R&D, Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain leaders to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Provide scenario modelling and risk analysis for operational investments, capital projects, and new product introductions. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Play a key role in the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term plans. Develop robust financial models to analyze manufacturing variances, standard costing, throughput, and capacity utilization. Prepare clear, actionable reports and dashboards for senior management with insights on key performance indicators (KPIs). Financial Reporting & Compliance Lead the Company''s transition from ASPE to IFRS and ensure ongoing compliance with GAAP. Oversee shareholder reporting, external audits and funding requirements. Establish internal controls and risk management strategies to protect company assets Commercialization & Scalability Designs financial models to support pricing strategies, gross margin optimization and scaling production. Develops cost control frameworks that align with commercial product launches and volume manufacturing. Collaborates with leadership to define KPIs that ensure operational efficiency and cost competitiveness. Cost Accounting & Inventory Control Implement and maintain effective cost accounting systems and processes to ensure accurate tracking of production costs, labour, and overhead. Lead efforts to analyze and reduce waste, scrap, and inefficiencies across the production floor. Ensure inventory is properly valued and reconciled, working closely with operations and supply chain teams. Business Partnership & Leadership Serve as a trusted advisor to the cross-functional operational leaders, translating financial data into operational actions. Support cross-functional teams with capital expenditure justifications and ROI analyses for new equipment and technology upgrades. Champion a culture of financial discipline and data-driven decision making. Positively contribute to cross-functional collaboration and culture building within the Finance team and across the company. Foster a positive and professional working environment, modelling values that strengthen trust and business excellence at all levels of the organization. Treasury and Cash Management Develops strategies related to treasury, including financing, banking arrangements and cash management. Taxation In conjunction with external advisors, ensures the company is planning and managing its tax position in a manner that minimizes tax liability and risk. Ensures the timely and accurate preparation and filing of all tax returns for the group of companies. Risk Management Ensures that the company has a disciplined approach to enterprise risk management. Ensures appropriate insurance coverage is in place to protect the assets of the company and protect against the financial ramifications of business interruptions, product defects, theft, injury, or other litigation. Identifies other areas of enterprise risks and creates strategies to minimize exposure. The salary range posted above reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries, taking into account factors such as job-related skills and expertise, relevant training and education, and business needs. It is common for ranges to span multiple levels in order to attract top talent across experience levels. It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate''s skills and expertise significantly exceed the role''s requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
