This role is suitable for individuals at various stages of their career and will include internal training and development opportunities led by our management team. : Strong Interest: Demonstrated interest or basic understanding of logistics, dispatch, drayage, or freight coordination, with a preference for those interested in the industrial, recycling, metal, construction, or port environment. Aptitude for Learning: Eagerness and ability to quickly learn about port operations, drayage, rail/truck, and customs processes (including CBSA/CBP, ACI/ACE, and CUSMA certification requirements). Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a keen desire to develop negotiation, vendor relationship management, and contracting skills. Data Comfort: Comfort with working with data, numbers, and basic spreadsheets (rate matrices and accessorials). Proficiency in Digital Tools: Proficient with common office applications like Excel/Google Sheets and a willingness to learn specialized TMS/dispatch tools and document portals. Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, an ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset with a bias for field visibility. Mobility: Valid driver''s license and the ability to visit local sites and vendors as needed. What the role will be doing: This position will be responsible for dispatching AMIX''s rolloff truck(s) for pickups, schedule cranes and thirdparty carriers when required, and run the outbound program endtoend (drayage, rail/truck bookings, customs & documentation, and freight coordination). It will also build and manage the vendor roster (carriers, drayage, cranes, rigging), negotiate service agreements, and rebid/renew annually to keep reliability high and cost per ton low. Responsibilities: The Logistics and Freight Coordinator will be responsible for the following: Plan, schedule, and dispatch AMIX rolloff truck(s) for all inbound pickups. Coordinate site access, load readiness, permits/parking, and safety requirements with customers/contractors. Collect and reconcile scale tickets, BOLs, photos, and site notes for each job Plan and execute shipments by container, flatbed, stepdeck, or rail as appropriate. Prepare and QA all documentation: BOL, commercial invoice, packing list, CUSMA/USMCA certificates, ACI/ACE prealerts via broker, and any special certificates required by mills/ports (e.g., fumigation, inspection). Work with customs brokers to ensure clearance, coordinate inspections, and resolve holds quickly. Build and maintain a preferred roster for carriers, drayage, cranes/rigging, and special services. Set up rate matrices (base rates, FSC, accessorial, surcharges) and keep them current. Create a dispatch board to provide structure and create SOP''s for processes Ensuring AMIX is compliant with NSC/DOT/TDG/HAZMAT awareness Approve and code freight invoices Provide clear ETAs, prealerts, and exceptions to Sales/Commercial, Yard Ops, and customers.
