Summary We are seeking a Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (CMDRT) to join our team at Medical Eye Consultants. This role is vital in ensuring all ophthalmic instruments and equipment are reprocessed according to CPSO and IPAC standards. You will play a key role in ultimately providing excellent ophthalmic care, enhancing patient satisfaction and supporting our mission. Responsibilities Perform cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of ophthalmic surgical and diagnostic instruments Follow Manufacturer Instructions for Use (MIFU) for autoclaves and ophthalmic devices Conduct and document biological indicator (BI) testing and sterilization cycle monitoring Inspect delicate ophthalmic instruments for cleanliness, damage, and functionality Prepare and label sterilization packaging according to best practices Maintain accurate sterilization logs and reprocessing documentation Follow all IPAC standards, including hand hygiene and proper PPE use Handle sterilization chemicals safely in accordance with WHMIS guidelines Keep reprocessing areas clean, organized, and compliant with CPSO requirements. Qualifications (Required) Current CMDRT Certification (CSA Group or accredited Ontario College) Graduate of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing program Minimum 400 hours of practical reprocessing experience or relevant clinical experience Valid WHMIS training certification Strong understanding of infection prevention and sterilization standards Experience with delicate ophthalmic instruments is an asset.
