Duties Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment Utilize hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks as needed Conduct facilities maintenance activities such as repairing fixtures or minor repairs using hand or power tools Operate commercial cleaning equipment to ensure high standards of cleanliness Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, washrooms, kitchens, offices, and common areas Manage heavy lifting tasks related to moving furniture or equipment safely and efficiently Follow safety protocols and proper handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate cleaning schedules and report maintenance issues Provide excellent customer service by addressing client requests promptly and professionally Qualifications Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred; familiarity with facilities maintenance is a plus Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and commercial cleaning equipment safely Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within scheduled timeframes Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interactions Knowledge of cleaning procedures, safety standards, and proper use of cleaning chemicals Reliable work ethic with attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $16.50 per hour Expected hours: 30 40 per week Application question(s): Valid Sin Number Location: Dartmouth, NS B3B 1V3 (required) Work Location: In person
