East Penn Canada is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our incredible team as a Delivery and Recovery Driver, supporting East Penn customers located in the GTA. Duties & Responsibilities Deliver and pick up product (batteries or scrap materials) at customer locations as per pre-determined delivery schedule Establish positive business relationships with primary contacts at each customer site Oversee function of provided equipment used for loading and unloading of materials Perform pre-trip inspections on company vehicle, as well as all tools and equipment stored within (including inspection of tires, lights, brakes, etc) Ensure the safety and security of cargo at all times (inspecting each load to ensure it is secured according to policies and procedures prior to departing East Penn warehouse or customer site, keeping delivery vehicle locked and secure when not in operation) Assist operations team with warehouse duties during peak seasons or to fill occasional workforce gaps (shipping/receiving, labeling batteries, etc) Experience, Skills & Competencies Must have valid G-Class drivers'' license 2+ years previous experience with delivery driving required Prior warehouse experience is a strong asset Must be willing and able to frequently lift and/or move items ranging in weight from 25-50lbs Must be willing and able to occasionally push, pull, or move items exceeding 50lbs Must possesses the ability to communicate very effectively in English (read, write, speak) Must have strong customer service skills, with previous customer service experience an asset Should be able to work with minimal supervision, be self-starting, and able to identify the ''next task'' without direction Forklift or related material handling equipment experience is an asset Ability to follow processes and adhere to all safety standards (WHIMS & TDG) Other Considerations Background checks including criminal checks, employment references, and driver''s abstracts will be requested of the incumbent Applicants who are interviewed for this position will receive a notification regarding the hiring decision within 45 days of their final interview date Expected hiring range for this position is $24-28 per hour (exact hourly rate offered to the successful applicant will be determined by the candidate''s experience, education, related knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data) [New Head Count] East Penn Canada is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes all qualified applicants to apply; all reasonable accommodations will be made for people with disabilities.
