Position Overview Swenam College is seeking a professional, student-focused Admissions Officer to join our growing team. This role serves as a key point of contact for prospective students and plays a critical role in guiding applicants through the admissions and enrollment process with clarity, accuracy, and integrity. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a solid understanding of post-secondary admissions processes, and working knowledge of Canadian student financial assistance programs. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students through phone, email, virtual, and in-person meetings Provide clear and accurate information regarding programs, admission requirements, timelines, and enrollment procedures Advise students on student funding options, including StudentAid BC, Student Aid Alberta, and other applicable funding or sponsorship pathways, as relevant Conduct information sessions, campus tours, and recruitment presentations to prospective students and community partners Coordinate with academic advisors, faculty, and administrative teams to ensure applicants meet admission criteria and understand program expectations Support students throughout the application process, including document collection, interview coordination, and follow-up communication Maintain detailed and accurate admissions records in compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements Assist with outreach and recruitment initiatives targeting diverse student populations Ensure admissions practices align with institutional policies and applicable provincial regulations Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience working with students in a post-secondary, college, or university environment Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian student funding programs, particularly StudentAid BC and/or Student Aid Alberta Strong verbal communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences professionally Experience using Ellucian or similar student information systems is strongly preferred Background in admissions, academic advising, education administration, or teaching is an asset Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across academic and administrative departments Experience in recruitment, outreach, or student advising is considered an asset Why Join Swenam College?
