The Safety and Training Administratorsupports the Learning & Development department by coordinating daily administrative tasks, maintaining records, and assisting with training logistics. This role provides scheduling, record keeping, and documentation support within the Training and Safety departments, contributing to 4Seasons'' overall mission of providing students with disabilities safe, reliable, and quality school transportation. We are a leader in the student transportation industry, dedicated exclusively to delivering the highest standard of care and support to the students and families we serve.The Behaviour Specialist (internally titled Student Care Coordinator) works within 4Seasons'' Operations Student Care Department to support students and our employees, Transfer Care Specialists (TCSs), by ensuring safe, consistent, and best-practice when working with students with disabilities on the school bus. Responsibilities Daily driving to meet bus teams and complete ride-alongs on buses. Administrative follow-up and in-field activities such as ride-alongs, securement troubleshooting, behavioural intervention, and route audits to provide ongoing support for students with complex needs, disabilities, and challenging behaviours, including. Update and maintain administrative records and departmental tracking systems (including behaviour tracking, securement practices, safety interventions, and communication logs with TCSs, schools, and guardians). Build strong rapport and maintain consistent communication with schools, families, and student communities by attending meetings and completing daily communication with drivers, families, and schools. t. Develop, coordinate, and deliver training on disability-related topics for staff. Support and advance 4Seasons Transportation''s mission to positively impact the lives of students with disabilities and remain the leading accessible school transportation provider. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of hands-off, least-invasive, and safety-focused behavioural intervention strategies. Strong experience supporting individuals with complex needs, particularly those with challenging behaviours or having had an increase in crisis intervention. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with disabilities, with strong knowledge of behavioural intervention methods and techniques. Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles. Knowledge and experience in applying trauma-informed practices. Understanding of disability best practices, student safety, and workplace safety standards. Completion of a diploma or degree in Disability Studies or a related field (e.g., Social Work, Early Childhood). Competent in maintaining organised, accurate, and confidential records. Proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others. Strong skills in being self-directed and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. Knowledge or experience in the transportation or school bus industry is an asset. Ability to speak multiple languages is considered a strong asset. Physical and Mental Requirements This role involves regular physical activity, including: Daily in-field duties include riding along on buses, attending school meetings, and supporting or conducting training sessions. Periods of sitting and sustained concentration in a busy office environment. Lifting and pushing items up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, kneeling, and stretching during in-field tasks. Must maintain a high level of mental alertness and visual acuity. Strong physical stamina and good mental health are essential to effectively support students and staff in fast-paced and dynamic environments. Ability to work in all types of weather conditions, both outdoors and on buses. Expected to drive throughout the city on a daily basis.
