Job Description

Our client, an infrastructure contractor, has an opening for a Superintendent to join their civil & infrastructure team in Toronto, ON, Vancouver BC, or Edmonton AB. Competitive salary: $140k - $200k depending on experience. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role. The Role of Superintendent: Leadership in Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection on the project Apply the requirements of project-specific safety standards to promote HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and trade partners Use a proactive approach to ensure project materials are supplied and in compliance with our Quality Program Establish and identify on-site manpower requirements Lead, mentor, and support the onsite team actively Collaborate with trade partners and consultants Develop and drive the construction schedule, ensuring milestones are met Employ problem-solving skills to recommend innovative methods for increasing effectiveness and efficiency Coordinate with the Project Manager on site start-up details and schedule Represent the company professionally during client and stakeholder meetings Ensure workforce training is current and up to date Manage the receipt of delivered materials according to policy Ensure construction is built according to plans, specs, shop drawings, and codes Maintain construction site inventory accuracy with the Logistics team Organize and maintain project documentation Participate in project wrap-up and celebrate project success Experience and Requirements: 10+ years experience in structures, civil, and infrastructure construction Experience in station construction is required Construction-related certificate, diploma, or degree Proven project success and team collaboration skills Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, quality, and cost control Ability to identify problems, analyze causes, and lead teams to solutions Passion for developing and executing project schedules Proficiency with scheduling software and good computer skills Knowledge of the market Ideal Candidate: Only candidates authorized to work in Canada will be considered.
