Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Mine Electrical Planner performs the electrical and instrumentation planning targeted primarily in our underground mine operations, ensuring safe, efficient work that meets operational standards. This role works closely with other departments to align electrical systems with site requirements. About Us The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canadas Yukon Territory, is one of the highestgrade silver districts in the world. It lies 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse within the traditional territory of the First Nation of NaCho Nyak Dun, covering 242km with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical pastproducing mines. Keno Hill is expected to produce ~3.0million ounces of silver in 2026 as the mine ramps up production. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur dAlene, Idaho. Responsibilities Provide electrical maintenance planning and reliability support across mine and plant operations. Support maintenance supervision with daytoday planning, scheduling, and work prioritization. Develop and maintain short and longterm electrical maintenance plans to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Identify equipment reliability issues, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities; recommend corrective actions. Build and maintain job plans including scope of work, labor estimates, materials, tooling, and safety requirements. Ensure maintenance history, lessons learned, and technical information are captured and shared across teams. Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and engineering to align electrical work with operational needs and shutdown schedules. Assist with electrical troubleshooting by reviewing failures, analyzing root causes, and proposing practical solutions. Develop and review safe work procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and electrical maintenance standards. Ensure all planned work complies with applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Promote a strong safety culture by integrating hazard identification and risk controls into all planned work. Support environmental best practices by planning work in a manner that minimizes environmental risk and impact. Review electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation to support accurate planning and execution. Assist with commissioning, startups, or major maintenance activities by coordinating electrical work and resources. Communicate planned activities, risks, and constraints to maintenance supervision and management. Maintain accurate planning data within the maintenance management system (work orders, task lists, materials). Support continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical maintenance efficiency and reliability. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Journeyman Electrician Interprovincial Red Seal is required. Minimum 5 years experience maintenance planner, scheduler, coordinator, underground mining. Significant experience working on CMMS system. Excellent skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong organization and leadership skills. Work Environment Employees will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including snow and ice, as well as extreme temperatures ranging from cold to warm. The work environment may involve contact with potentially hazardous wildlife, moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the use of explosives. There is also a risk of electrical shock and exposure to vibration. Noise levels can occasionally be loud, depending on the task or location on site. Work Location & Schedule This is a flyin flyout position based at a remote mining camp, operating on a rotational schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off. Camp accommodations and meals are provided while on site. All travel to and from the mine site is arranged through a designated travel agency and coordinated from approved flight hubs.
