Impala Canada is the owner and operator of the Lac Des Iles Mine, located 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario. In operation for 30+ years, the LDI Mine is one of only two pure palladium sources in North America. Palladium contributes to a cleaner global environment, with its leading use being in catalytic converters that reduce harmful emissions from gas-powered and hybrid vehicles. The LDI Mine features a unique ore body and modern infrastructure, including underground and surface mining and mill operations. The LDI Mine is in the RobinsonSuperior Treaty territory, and the land on which we operate is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg and the Mtis. Job Description: The individual is responsible for the preparation and advancement of development headings, including operating equipment such as Maclean Botlter and/or Jumbo, jackleg, stoper, installing ground support, drilling safety bays, advancing services, mucking and prepping faces, loading and blasting development headings, and performing other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor. All tasks must be completed following company procedures, government regulations, and manufacturer specifications. Qualifications: Employees must have a working knowledge and skills in Development Mining, and must promote safety and follow company procedures. They should be able to work in a safe and productive manner, safely direct the activities of less skilled employees, understand and follow instructions, and maintain housekeeping and quality professional results. Some specialty module training requires prerequisite modules that might not be listed. MTCU guidelines will be followed.
