Engineering Student - Utility Management (Hybrid) Kerr Wood Leidal Burnaby Office, 300 - 4185 Still Creek Drive, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada Job Description Posted Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. We are looking for a positive and motivated Engineering Co-Op Student join our Utility Management group for a 4-month or 8-month beginning May, 2026 with a passion for delivering the right solution to serve each clients unique needs. What Youll Do Field Work : Throughout the Lower Mainland, to the Fraser Valley and beyond you will be involved in various data collection and monitoring tasks that could include water sampling, equipment maintenance and construction monitoring. Occasional fieldwork outside the lower mainland is possible. Office work: You will be responsible for assisting infrastructure planning teams with various assignments. Assist with tasks including model flow calculations, technical report writing, and cost estimates; Assist in the preparation of technical databases and computer-based models including scripting / programming (water/sewer networks); Data collection, analysis, and management using FlowWorks or other systems; and, Assist with flow monitoring equipment maintenance. What Youll Bring A positive and motivated personality! Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering program or similar. You know your way around the MS Office suite of products and are keen to grow your skills in new areas Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS would be an asset. You are passionate about building a career in water/municipal infrastructure and related fields. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to work with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment. A desire to learn new skills and an eagerness to grow within your role. Youve got a valid Class 5 Drivers License, clean Drivers Abstract, are willing to travel Must be physically able to conduct field visits commensurate with project work. This may include handling and operation of equipment, travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, and outdoor site visits in all weather conditions on uneven/varying ground terrain .
