Job Overview Uxbridge Hospital is seeking Emergency Physicians to provide emergency services in a singlecoverage ER. Local support is strong for urgent situations, with supportive specialist colleagues at Markham Stouffville Hospital available for consultation. Each day consists of three 8hour shifts. The patient mix is typically CTAS3&4, with 12 CTAS1&2 per day. Onsite lab, Xray, CT and ultrasound are available 24/7, with ultrasound MondayFriday and afterhours availability at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Compensation: Competitive hourly rate with higher rates on weekends and holidays. Summer weekends in July and August offer an additional hourly rate bonus. Short and longterm opportunities are available. Responsibilities Provide emergency services during three 8hour shifts daily. Triage and manage patients, primarily CTAS3&4, while handling 12 CTAS1&2 cases per day. Collaborate with onsite laboratory, Xray, CT, and ultrasound services, and consult with specialist colleagues at Markham Stouffville Hospital as needed. Participate as part of a collegial medical community consisting of CCFP, CCFPEM and FRCPC doctors across emergency, inpatient, family medicine and walkin clinics. Engage in continuing medical education focused on advanced rural skills and collaborate with nursing and allied health professionals. Qualifications/Experience Independent license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) to practice as an Emergency Physician. Certification with the College of Family Physician Canada (CFPC), Emergency Medicine (preferred) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), Emergency Medicine. Demonstrated clinical experience, expertise and knowledge in emergency medicine. Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, communication, organizational, teambuilding and conflictmanagement skills. Demonstrated problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
