Reservoir Safety Engineer (Reservoirs & Dams) / Supervising Panel Engineer Employer: Essex & Suffolk Water Location: South-East England, covering primarily our Essex and Suffolk operating areas with travel to our reservoirs in our northern operating area. This is achieved through effective surveillance, monitoring, examination, and inspection. As a member of the Reservoir Safety Team, you will support the company as undertaker of the current portfolio of Large Raised Reservoirs where we have ultimate responsibility for the safety of the reservoir. Working collaboratively with our colleagues and partners to manage the safety of our dams, related infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975. You will provide expert technical support to our internal teams regarding potential or actual Reservoir Act compliance and reservoir safety issues. We have made good progress in delivering improvements to our reservoir safety operations over recent years and we are looking for you to make further improvements and to support with the development of long-term strategies for our reservoir safety operations, considering the Reservoirs Act 1975 and the Floods and Water Management Act 2010. About You Creative individual who excels in strategic thinking and problem solving. Strong communication skills and ability to influence decision making at all levels. Effective project management of civil engineering projects considering Health & Safety, Company, and Legislative procedures and budget constraints. Detailed working knowledge of the Reservoirs Act 1975 and dam construction, monitoring and maintenance. Writing and interpreting technical reports. Proficiency in relevant Microsoft packages. The position requires you to be appointed to the Supervising Engineers (England and Wales) joint panel.
