Job Description

Role Description As a Spiritual Care Coordinator you will collaborate with residents, families, volunteers and other professionals to provide an interdisciplinary and ecumenical approach to Spiritual Care Services. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of ministry to residents and families in a continuing care setting. You will perform other related duties as assigned. This position is shared between three CapitalCare sites: Grandview 43.96%, Lynwood 34.67% and Strathcona 24.97%. Qualifications Education: Spiritual Care training at a recognized learning facility is required. Related Knowledge/Skills: Familiarity with various theologies and ecclesiologies, and a good knowledge of ethics is required. An understanding and empathy for various religious values, beliefs and practices is required. Compassion for those who require long term care, their illness and problems, and a deep understanding of ministry to them is required. Demonstrates a spiritual and emotional maturity when giving Spiritual care services. Promotes, encourages and demonstrates excellent customer relations and consistently shows courtesy, caring, understanding, compassion and respect to residents, families, visitors, coworkers and volunteers. Is mentally and physically fit to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Possesses excellent communication skills and telephone manner. Possesses good organizational skills to accurately performs detailed work with frequent interruptions and meets established deadlines. Possesses initiative and works with minimal supervision.
