Job Description

Overview Field Service Technician for the Fired Equipment Group. Remote position with travel servicing assigned territories. Typically up to 90% travel to customer sites. Responsible for preventative maintenance, emergency assistance, troubleshooting, automation support, and commissioning for new and existing equipment. What You Will Do Install, supervise installations, troubleshoot, and provide maintenance recommendations to customers. Operate with knowledge of register burners, duct burners or utility burners; possess mechanical aptitude and ability to learn complex mechanical systems. Communicate with PLCs, PLC logic, and HMIs; rudimentary knowledge of electrical design and wiring. Travel regularly to customer job sites. Typical base pay range at start: 50 to 65 CAD per hour (may be higher with industry experience). Basic Qualifications Experience with register burners, duct burners or utility burners. Experience with PLCs and PLC programming for combustion or related equipment. Ability to travel to job sites approximately 90% of the time. Valid passport or ability to obtain one. Valid drivers license. Candidate must live within 80 km of a major airport. Physical Requirements Lift up to 75 lb occasionally and 50 lb routinely; able to bend, stoop, crawl, and maneuver around equipment and piping. Ability to hear, distinguish colors, and see clearly at close and distance ranges. Work is performed in outdoor environments; long workdays may be required. What Will Put You Ahead 2-year Technical Degree in a mechanically-based field or 4 years of military service with boilers. Experience with burners (any brand), duct burners, or utility burners. Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs in combustion or steam generation. Field work experience in petrochemical, power generation, pulp & paper, or food processing industries. Gas Fitter A Certification. Ability to perform hands-on work in the US. Note: This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Compensation and Benefits General salary range: approximately 50 to 65 CAD per hour; eligible for variable pay as a bonus or other form. Compensation is an estimate and may vary by knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
