This role ensures compliance with licensing regulation, supports recruitment and onboarding, and maintains accurate staffing records. Working closely with child care leadership, the coordinator addresses scheduling gaps, resolves real-time coverage challenges, and implements strategies to optimize workforce scheduling. Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability under pressure, and a commitment to quality care and child safety are essential, as the position involves balancing qualifications, availability, and program needs while contributing to workforce planning and operational efficiency. Major Responsibilities (in this position, you will): Coordinate daily and long-term staffing to ensure child care programs are adequately staffed, addressing scheduling needs and coverage gaps across multiple licensed sites. Maintain accurate staffing records by tracking employee availability, certifications, and deployment history to support compliance and smooth operations. Collaborate with child care operations team to align staff scheduling with program needs, licensing ratios, and budget considerations. Support recruitment and onboarding by assisting with new hire placements and ensuring seamless integration into program sites. Manage real-time staffing challenges by responding promptly to unplanned absences and emergencies, coordinating replacements and adjustments as needed. Ensure all scheduling decisions comply with licensing regulations, including staff qualifications and child-to-staff ratios. Analyze workforce trends using scheduling data to identify risks, recommend strategies, and contribute to long-term workforce planning. Resolve scheduling conflicts and address concerns related to staff placement to maintain engagement and service continuity. Must be available to work outside regular business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as staffing needs require. Qualification (you bring): 23 years of experience in workforce coordination, scheduling, or staffing logistics, ideally within child care, education, or a non-profit environment. Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of child care licensing regulations and staffing requirements for Early Years programs is highly preferred. Proficiency in workforce management systems and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
