Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Location: Fort Erie, ON Employment type: Permanent (Full-Time) | Experience Level: Professional | Job Function: Engineering and IT | Industries: Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing We are looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer who will assemble aircraft, perform mechanical installations, conduct ground or flight tests, inspect and maintain company or customerowned aircraft, and ensure compliance with Transport Canada and AHCA Standards. Main Responsibilities Aircraft Completions Install AHCA options and external vendor STC kits using work orders, instructions and drawings to ensure correct assembly. Utilize the maintenance manual to ensure work complies with internal standards. Disassemble the aircraft to prepare for painting. Perform visual inspections for component defects, document root causes, and complete corrective actions. Perform and oversee functional checks (fuel system, engine, fluids, etc.) required for flight, ensuring accurate and complete documentation. Prep, clean, and polish the aircraft after successful testing for delivery to the customer. Record and rectify snags found during the assembly process. Communicate component/part shortages to the Lead Hand and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Instruct and mentor the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer apprentice. Act as a team lead for aircraft completion when assigned. Support the Quality Assurance department with inspections on new and used aircraft/components to determine compliance with AMM and TCCA standards. Ensure safe transportation of aircraft through all completion stages using aircraft dollies. Inspect components/aircraft for defects, deficiencies and airworthiness for maintenance (e.g., 12year inspections). Ensure accurate time booking and workorder signouts for all work completed by self and other technicians. Verify work packages are complete and present before starting production (documentation, parts, work instructions). Maintain a neat, tidy, and FODfree production bay. Complete daily tool checks on companyissued toolboxes per FOD policies. Maintain cleanliness of the work area and hangar, ensuring 5S compliance. Perform work efficiently using appropriate maintenance practices and standards (manuels, regulations, AHCA standards) safely. Aircraft Testing Carry out postmaintenance ground runs and test flights, including rotor track and balance. Perform weight and balance testing before ground rounds and confirm airworthiness. Return aircraft to service by completing track and balance tests with the flight crew. Verify engine and aircraft operating parameters are within specified ranges. Verify correct operation of all installed equipment for delivery. Ensure flighttest documents are accurately completed and fall within specified ranges in manuals. Record snags and troubleshoot issues/deficiencies found during testing. Communicate snags/deficiencies and troubleshooting work to the QA team. Training & Continual Learning Maintain currency and update knowledge through selfstudy. Participate in/completion of recurrent aircraft type training upon AHCA request. Remain current on changes to internal (AG) and external (TCCA) service bulletins and safety alerts. Education & Job Requirements Education Completion of a Transport Canada approved Aircraft Maintenance program. TCCA AME License. Experience 3years experience as a licensed technician working in aircraft maintenance. Field experience maintaining Airbus products an asset. Experience in aircraft operational maintenance an asset. Knowledge, Skills & Demonstrated Capabilities Eligible to enroll in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program via successful screening. Literacy skills; able to read and interpret technical drawings, instructions and manuals. Follow instructions and standards for product quality and report nonconformances. Follow company/industry safety regulations, offer solutions, report concerns, and proactively engage in safety. Work within and lead a team on daytoday circumstances. Identify and solve common problems during aircraft completion. Meet deadlines and work under pressure. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to rectify and communicate issues/snags to Lead Hand and aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
