Design building systems in accordance with municipal or provincial building codes and applicable standards. Check layouts and services for continuity, developing mechanical system layouts in coordination with structural, architectural, and electrical components. Develop layouts and design of mechanical building systems such as HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and specialized systems (natural gas, fuel oil, medical gas, etc.). Create projectspecific details to clarify scope and build building sections for interference coordination. Prepare calculations to size ductwork, gas, HVAC, piping, plumbing, and drainage; incorporate these into technical drawings. Prepare calculations to size equipment, preparing projectspecific equipment schedules; coordinate with consultants for review. Liaise with all project consultants; coordinate design requirements across disciplines and supervise interdisciplinary drawings; check mechanical services for interferences. Design mechanical building systems directly in Revit, adhering to company BIM standards. Work with clash/coordination reports, perform model audits, and maintain overall model health. Liaise with suppliers/makers for design support, equipment, and component selection. Assist in construction administration: review equipment shop drawings, conduct site visits, prepare change notices, site instructions, etc. Perform other tasks assigned by Principals or Project Managers to support project completion. Who You Are: Two or more years of direct industry experience in mechanical building services. Diploma/Degree from a mechanical building services/engineering or technologist program. Proficient in Autodesk Revit with experience in mechanical layouts and systems. Working knowledge of AutoCAD MEP. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel. Experience with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing systems, etc. Familiarity with structural, architectural, and electrical models for space appreciation. Knowledge of municipal and provincial codes and authorities. Ability to work in a fastpaced environment driven by project deadlines. Highly innovative, motivated, and attentive to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills; effective with internal and external clients. Independent worker with strong teamwork skills.
