The successful candidate will contribute local news content to our print publication and news website. Local journalism is our focus and applicants should possess an interest in learning about the people that live here and reporting stories that matter to this areas residents. A keen news sense combined with a willingness to tackle a broad spectrum of stories for this general assignment role is necessary. This is rural Alberta - no big cities here - so if you are not someone who can easily adapt to a change in lifestyle, this is not the role for you. The successful candidate will be expected to relocate to the region and work out of either our St. Paul or Bonnyville office. Qualifications Journalism diploma or degree / postsecondary equivalencies in English/Communications among others will be considered. Applicants must possess excellent written and oral communication skills with a clear understanding of Canadian Press style. Ability to multitask in a digital and print publishing environment. Be a selfstarter and be able to pivot quickly as news happens. Photography skills are essential. A drivers licence and vehicle are necessary.
