Civil Structural Designer Department: Drafting and Design Employment Type: Contract / Temp Location: Calgary, AB, Canada Description Equinox Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM firm. We are a market leader in oil and gas processing specializing in facilities design, implementation and operational assistance for natural gas, conventional oil, heavy oil, carbon capture and new energy projects. Our clients include several of the largest oil and gas producers in Canada and worldwide. The Civil Structural Designer is responsible for the preparation of all civil structural drafting and design deliverables on the project. These include structural steel layouts and details, piling layouts and details, concrete details, ladders and platforms, steel structures and associated 3D models. Key Responsibilities Preparation of 3D models using CADWorx and Advanced Steel 3D software. Preparation of design drawings including structural steel, concrete, piling and foundations. Bill of materials generation. Review of drawings and designs for accuracy, completeness and consistency. Participate in internal and external 30/60/90 model reviews. Adherence to electronic filing system, folder structure and file management. Regular meetings with the Civil Structural Design Lead to ensure all project requirements are being met. Effectively communicate the status of tasks and design changes to the team. Maintain proficiency with the most up to date software. Develop mutually beneficial relationships with team members and project personnel. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Design layout of Civil Structural systems. Preparation of 3D models using CADWorx and Advanced Steel 3D software. Preparation of design drawings for the Civil Structural discipline in the company. General training and guidance of other drafting and design personnel. Engineering Design and Drafting Diploma or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma. 5+ years of EPCM experience.
