Job Details Competition ID: 4414 Internal Closing Date: December 15, 2025 External Closing Date: Open Until Filled # of Openings: 1 Salary: $32.01 to $35.76 per hour (11 - BCGEU Pay Grid) Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Workplace Type: On-Site Days of Work: MondayFriday Hours per Week: 35 Job Overview Provide support and assistance to students and faculty in various trade programs, including monitoring shop work, maintaining inventory, repairing tools and equipment, and preparing materials for learning. Education and Experience Minimum of C Level Welding Ticket. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to operate and maintain forklift/shop vehicles and have forklift certification. Experience in monitoring student activity in a shop environment, ensuring safe handling of materials, tools and equipment. Competence in MS Office (Excel, Outlook). Extensive demonstrated experience with the safe use of machinery applicable to the trades. Knowledge of WHMIS and WorkSafeBC procedures for the trades. Working knowledge of operation and routine maintenance of machine tools. Proven ability to organize work, multi-task and meet deadlines. Ability to deal effectively with others and handle unexpected situations, including hostile or upset clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Initiative, discretion, and adaptability to meet changing priorities and make responsible decisions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 23 kg / 50 pounds).
