Position Title PC12 EMS Captain Department/Section Aviation Employment Status Permanent Full Time Targeted Salary Range $121,605.62-$148,567.23 per year as per Collective Bargaining Agreement (OPEIU) Location Sudbury and Sioux Lookout Posting Open Date January 12, 2026 Posting Close Date February 17, 2026 Position Summary PC12 EMS Captains are responsible for all aspects of aircraft operation including crew and passenger safety and must be able to fly in varying conditions, handle pressure well and be flexible and adaptable. They are responsible for following all applicable policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Ornge aircraft are province wide resources and aviation personnel may be required to provide flight support at bases other than the home base where demand arises. All Ornge pilots are required to complete the companys training program and have successfully passed a PPC/IFT check conducted by a Transport Canada Inspector or Approved Check Pilot. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of aircraft operation. Maintain crew and passenger safety. Operate the aircraft in varying weather and operational conditions. Follow company policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Provide flight support at any required base. Complete company training and PPC/IFT certification. Qualifications Valid Canadian ATPL (issued by Transport Canada). Minimum of 2,000 hours of flight experience. Minimum of 500 hours of experience as a Pilot-In-Command (PIC). Valid Group 1 IFR rating. Valid Category 1 Medical. Valid Canadian Passport or ability to work in Canada and unrestricted ability to travel to the USA. A satisfactory criminal record check and immunization record with required vaccinations. Prior PC12, EMS, and/or Northern Ontario flight experience will be considered an asset. Hours and Location of Work Pilots are required to work various shifts (standard 12 hours) and overtime, including day and night shifts and weekends in a 24/7 environment. During shift duties, pilots may be required to overnight away from their home base. Successful candidates must live or be willing to relocate within close proximity to the assigned base location and comply with CAR rest requirements.
