Position Description Title: Global Supply Chain Manager Department: Engineered Coated Products (ECP) Location: Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada Supervisor: Director of Global Supply Chain, and Truro Operations Status: Salaried exempt Position Brief: This high-impact leader will drive strategic insights and execution for (1) global logistics, (2) global supply chain and capacity planning between India, US, and Canadian manufacturing sites, and (3) production planning for our Truro operations. This role is the cornerstone of our business success by ensuring that we serve our customers better, faster, and more efficiently. Principle Responsibilities Leadership and Team Development Build and inspire a high-performing team. Foster a culture of customer-centricity and accountability. Cultivate a results-driven culture by establishing clear expectations and ensuring accountability among team members for achieving objectives. Supply Chain Analysis and Optimization Gain a comprehensive understanding of IPG-ECPs supply chain including manufacturing and distribution locations, baseline of product flow and seasonality, detailed operating costs, key supply chain processes in sourcing, planning, and operations. Develop a structured approach to assessing potential improvement opportunities, and conduct required analysis to define potential supply chain strategies and tactics to meet growth and financial objectives. Analyze supply chain network design and footprints: Baseline warehousing and distribution network cost structure and capacity utilization. Profile supply chain processes and inventory flows throughout the network. Analyze network optimization opportunities for cost, inventory, and service delivery. Optimal inventory flow through network (e.g. ship from DC vs. ship from manufacturing site; supplier drop ship options; optimal stocking positions, etc.). Develop high-level models to support inventory optimization across supply chain networks. Assess inventory planning processes and systems and recommend potential improvement opportunities for optimizing service levels and inventory working capital requirements. Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes in transportation, freight optimization, warehousing & distribution, and develop implementation plan and estimated range and timing of benefits (OPEX / inventory / service delivery). Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance. Ensure all supply chain and logistics activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions or inefficiencies. Develop and manage the budget for supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring that costs are controlled while maintaining operational excellence and service quality. Logistics and Warehouse Management Supervise daily warehouse operations at Truro, including inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and warehousing best practices. Ensure efficient use of space and resources while maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence. Work with your team to analyze and continuously improve supply chain workflows and warehouse processes, focusing on maximizing efficiency, reducing lead times, and minimizing costs. Manage relationships with external suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Oversee the movement of goods through the supply chain, from suppliers to manufacturing sites to warehouses and final customers. Ensure the transportation network runs smoothly, cost-effectively, and in compliance with all regulations. Lead efforts to maintain optimal inventory levels across all locations, ensuring that stock is available when needed while avoiding excess inventory and storage costs. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain and warehouse operations, such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, and inventory turnover. Provide regular reports to senior management and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Production Control and Planning Oversee all materials management functions, including planning, inventory control, and distribution, to support production goals and customer satisfaction. Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs, obsolescence, and expedited shipping expenses. Manage and improve inventory processes, including physical inventory, cycle counting, and year-end valuation. Coordinate product phase-outs and manage obsolescence as required. Direct production planning and scheduling to align with sales forecasts and ensure efficient use of labor and equipment. Monitor and resolve schedule deviations. Maintain clear and proactive communication with customers regarding order releases and delivery expectations. Investigate and resolve material shortages or supply chain disruptions. Develop and maintain reporting systems related to inventory, production, and materials functions. Oversee all shipping and receiving operations, including proper storage of inbound and outbound materials and finished goods. Ensure all departmental procedures align with company policies and best practices. Lead, coach, and develop the Production Control and Planning team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth Other duties may be assigned depending on business needs and individual strengths. Qualifications Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, and warehouse operations, with at least 3 years in leadership role managing teams. Proven experience leading teams of project managers, warehouse staff, or cross-functional teams to successfully complete complex projects and achieve operational goals. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and data analysis tools. Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving business objectives. In-depth understanding of inventory management, logistics, transportation, and warehouse optimization techniques.
