About the Role Reporting to the Vice President of Content & Curriculum, the French Language Content Producer will develop responsive, forwardlooking learning experiences for French Immersion and Core French students in K12. Projects are highintensity and highprofile, requiring a broad skillset and a willingness to work flexibly and handson to deliver quality solutions within target timelines. Key Accountabilities Rapid, Responsive French Content Development and Translation 65% Translate, write, research, edit, storyboard, and create student and teacherfacing material in Edwin to support market needs and boost engagement and retention. Communicate requirements, delegate tasks, and review the work of Nelson staff and freelancers to meet competing deadlines and priorities. Use an agile workflow and development process to deliver appready Edwin content. Respond promptly to internal and external content requirements, including new development, licensing, or repackaging of content. Content Experience Design & Conceptualization 20% Work in consultation with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualize and create enticing content learning experiences that drive usage, retention, and user delight. Contribute to overall content strategy and continuously improve quality and breadth of Edwin content coverage and learning experiences. Propose and conceptualize new experiences for Edwin, datainformed, including writing requirements and creating mockups or prototypes for interactive, HTML, video, or audio approaches. Consider the voice of the customer when authoring and developing new material, understanding teaching and learning challenges, curriculum, pedagogy, and initiatives that drive classroom needs. Develop content outlines and plans, and release schedules for assigned Edwin LOs, projects, collections, and modules; author or oversee authorship through publication/live in app. Editorial Leadership 15% Collaborate with C&C Leads & Specialists to prioritize and plan content for revisions and added library items based on customer feedback and usage data. Populate an editorial calendar for featured Edwin content in collaboration with C&C Leads and the Commercial team to feature content in a timely manner. Manage projectspecific authoring templates, guidelines, and best practices for consistent, biasfree, inclusive, and engaging Edwin content experiences. Research, write, edit, and storyboard text, audio, video, and interactive experiences for Edwin. Provide marketing with key benefit statements of profiled learning experiences, as needed. Requirements Bachelors degree in Education, French, Linguistics, Translation, or a related field; or equivalent K12 education experience. Exceptional understanding of K12 pedagogy, curriculum, and instructional design, with demonstrated experience supporting French Immersion and Core French programs. Proven experience developing, adapting, and reviewing French Immersion learning resources aligned with curriculum outcomes in Canada. High proficiency in French and English, with the ability to translate and adapt educational content accurately and appropriately for student audiences. Experience with educational translation and localization, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and ageappropriate language. Knowledge of secondlanguage acquisition principles best practices for French Immersion instruction and acquisition. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with educators, curriculum developers, and subjectmatter experts. Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and editorial judgment. Proficient problemsolver and idea driver. Experience developing inclusive, accessible, and culturally responsive educational materials that support UDL. Experience working within provincial/territorial curriculum frameworks (asset). Significant experience in authoring, editing, and content creation for web, app, videos, interactives, and/or games in the EdTech sector. Technological mindset that prioritizes user experience while embracing new and evolving software, AI, technologies, and skillset requirements. Working ability in HTML is required. Compensation The base salary range for this temporary contract position starts at $80,000 per annum based on experience. This position may also be eligible for performancerelated incentive pay.
