Machine Operator Location: Simcoe, ON Pay Range: $24.70 Per Hour Background & Purpose of the Job The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe operation of production equipment to deliver customer requirements through completion of the production plan, adhering to quality standards and maximizing cost effectiveness, optimal running, and equipment efficiency. This position efficiently operates assigned equipment to produce product at prescribed standards; minimize material waste and product loss. Operators are trained in the product categories of molded, extruded, and packaged ice cream. She/he is expected to carry out cleaning and inspection activities and record any issues/problems with the equipment to assist the Technical Operator to resolve. The Machine Operator should master the operation of a series of machines in order to provide factory resilience. Who You Are & What You''ll Do Set up machine for production including assembling freezers and various parts of machine, assemble necessary ingredients, sanitize lines, and adjust machine to formula specifications (following SOP''s) Understands all the lock out tag out points and how to isolate all energy sources Safety Working knowledge of the workplace and the hazards within it. Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures relating to the Sourcing Unit and allocated equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole line Monitors equipment for malfunctions, solving minor problems without assistance and eliminating potential threats to production Communicate effectively with Supervisors and maintenance personnel regarding recurring problems and needs for repair.
