At Buds Spas and Pools, our Yard Attendants enjoy working in the elements. They are detail-oriented but quick on their feet and often have a passion for cars. As a pivotal link between all our departments, the person responsible for organization of our yard, and the support network to all our employees, the Maintenance Supervisor is the vital link in keeping Buds running as well as it does A day in the life: Helps get the yard set up and organized every day, checking stock, seeing what needs to bemaintained, helping service techs get out the door, or delivering hot tubs and pool kits to our techs in the field first thing in the morning. Assistsdrivers with the loading and unloading of product and directs seasonal yard staff in getting things put away safely, including helping as well to get it all away Checking over equipment and vehicles on a regular basis to ensure everything is in working order. Maintains the tow motor, completes the daily circle check, andassistsothers when the tow motor is needed. Tracks tools and equipment that moves in and out of the yard and lets management know when something is down for repair, missing, or due for replacement. Delivers and picks up stock and supplies as needed, either running things out to those in the field or picking items up from vendors directly. Reports any safety hazards or accidents in the yardimmediatelyto management or health and safety team representatives. Keepsan eye ontechsand junior staff leaving stuff in the yard or sheds without cleaning or putting them away properly.Everyone needs to be kept accountable from time to time Works through the maintenance check list daily and weekly to ensure that the yard and property are wellmaintainedand presentable to staff and customers.It''smore than just grass that needs to be cut Helps to move product from our off-site storage location back to our main location ortakingproduct from our main location to both the off-site storage and our second store in Dundas. Must be available and willing to work overtime in our busy seasons.This includes between 3-6 half shifts on Saturdays during April/May. Mechanical or technical aptitude and a history of working with and repairing small motors and vehicles. Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions. Thisisn''ta desk job, and sometimes the weather does not always work in ourfavour. Practical experience with small tools and yard maintenance tools. Great communicationskills While it is not required, it would be great if you have: A valid and up to date forklift license to help get you up to speed quickly Past health and safety involvement and training including first aid. Strong level of computer literacy and comfortable with smart phones. Experience in inventory management and its importance. Technical skills from various trades in the past (welding, landscaping, construction,etc). Having led small teams of 1-3 employees and coworkers Physical Demand Highlights: This position involves primarily outdoor work in all types of weather. On nice warm sunny days this might not seem too much, but it''s the same work on really hot and really sunny days, and on really cold and really snowy days. Ability to applyappropriate useof personal protective equipment (i.e., safety gloves, safety glasses). Ability to avoid accidents by recognizing potentially unsafe situations and responding appropriately when accidents occur. Ability tofrequentlylift, carry, push, or pull up to/over 50 lbs. Ability tofrequentlybend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawl. Must remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehiclesoperatedin their work area.
