Job Description

This is a hybrid position. Usual hours will be Tuesday to Saturday. We are looking for a Distillery Helper/Distillery Driver to join our team. In the distillery we require significant help on the bottling line as well as operating the still, general maintenance and cleaning. Being hands-on and mechanically inclined would be welcomed. The successful candidate will be responsible at times for helping to load and unload packages by hand/cart from delivery vehicles, take them into the liquor stores, pick up cheques and interact with the store managers. The ideal candidate should have a valid driver''s license, clean driving abstract, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to lift heavy objects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a somewhat flexible schedule and enjoys working outdoors. Being a ''car person'' would be a bonus. Responsibilities Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver products Exhibit professionalism in customer service Receive and relay information to main office Load and unload goods Use maps and other trip planning aids Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Assist and take direction from the Production manager/Distillery owners in all tasks related to the Distillery Distillery tasks to include operation of still, operation and manning of the bottling line, inventory, maintenance and lots of cleaning . Will be required to learn and provide information on the full range of products made by the distillery Will be required to assist in sales related activities around specific events Generally perform tasks consistent with the maintenance and operation of a distillery and the effective delivery of product. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Class 5 Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles) Will require Pro Serve training which will be paid by the company Transportation/travel experience Deliveries will initially be limited to south of Red Deer. This role is essential in ensuring that freight is handled properly and that deliveries are made on time. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and have a willingness to learn about the logistics industry. Duties Assist drivers with loading and unloading freight from delivery vehicles. Ensure that all items are accounted for and properly secured during transit. Communicate effectively with the driver regarding delivery schedules and routes. Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle. Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed (training may be provided). Provide support in moving freight within warehouses or distribution centers. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely deliveries and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers. Previous experience operating forklifts is a plus but not required; training will be provided. Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with minor vehicle maintenance tasks. Ability to handle freight of various sizes and weights, ensuring safe transport. Willingness to learn about commercial driving practices and logistics operations. Physical stamina to perform moving tasks throughout the day, including lifting heavy items when necessary.
