About ICE: Independent Counselling Enterprises (ICE) supports adults with disabilities to live meaningful inclusive lives. We provide residential, non-residential and support home services across Alberta. Role Summary: LETHBRIDGE - Support Home Operator ICE is currently seeking a Support Home Operator (SHO) who has experience working directly with adults with disabilities, who can provide care and support to an individual within the applicant''s home. The preferred support home location would be in South or North Lethbridge. Pets in the home would be acceptable. Applicants with evening and weekend availability to support for individual''s activities is preferred. As a Support Home Operator you will work with our client to meet his day to day needs and to help him achieve his long term goals. The individual requiring supports is an adult male in his 50s. You will also be responsible for completing specified documentation on an ongoing basis. ICE provides all required agency and individual specific training. This is a contractor position. Key Responsibilities: Ensure client safety and wellbeing by providing appropriate supervision and assistance Ensure all fire, health and safety standards are maintained Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and nutritious food is provided Arrange for and accompany the client to any medical, dental, optical or other necessary appointments and schedule appointments on a regular basis Promote positive outcomes through community integration and inclusion by assisting client to access community resources including personal interest groups, recreation and leisure, employment and volunteer work, and provide transportation Promote contact with client''s guardian, natural supports and be a contributing member of the client''s team. Qualifications: The Support Home Operator must have the following: Must reside in Lethbridge Must have experience supporting individuals with disabilities Ability to support client with skill development and meeting goals Ability to monitor and/or cue client with various activities of daily living Two workplace references A clear criminal record check for everyone over 18 living in the home (completed within the past 90 days) Current First Aid/CPR Certificate Valid Class 5 Driver''s License with Third Party Liability insurance (minimum $2M) Valid dwelling and household insurance Ability to obtain General Commercial Liability Insurance (minimum $2M) ICE will evaluate a potential Support Home Operator''s home based on minimum housing standards. The bedroom the client will be sleeping in must have windows that meet requirements for egress. Additional safety requirements will be discussed during application process.
