Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position helps manage accounting, payroll, and HR functions. The successful candidate is someone who enjoys working visibly in collaboration with staff and stakeholders, is actively engaged and inquisitive, and goes beyond the numbers to solve problems. Duties and Functions Provide oversight and preparation for all financial transactions related to full-cycle accounting related to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Perform regular trend and variance analyses for managers and stakeholders Review finance policies and controls to ensure compliance with ASNPO, CRA, and Health Authority regulations Responsible for submission and compliance with all third-party reporting requirements (CRA, WSBC, health authority, Ministry of Health, etc.) Take the lead in annual financial audits with external auditors Work with management in preparing annual budgets and financial packages for board discussions Assist with overseeing and backing up the daily operations of the finance team Oversee payroll preparation, reporting, and approval processes Perform other finance and reporting tasks as needed Assist with reviewing HR and hiring policies in a unionized environment Be involved in non-financial operational tasks and decision making as needed, including being part of an on-call rotation of management staff Education and Experience CPA Designation preferred, or near completion Bachelor''s degree in accounting, finance, BA, or a related discipline 5 years of progressive finance experience (senior accountant/supervisory role) Experience in long-term care, NPO, or unionized environments will be a strong asset Experience in ERP/payroll software implementation will be a strong asset Skills and Abilities Strong presentation skills and can deliver clear and compelling financial presentations to management, board members, and other stakeholders Inquisitive and proactive in identifying challenges and opportunities for improvement Tech-savvy with ability to adapt and manage IT systems Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and integrity, including maintaining secure handling of sensitive documents and discussions Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year Benefits: Company pension Dental care Extended health care Life insurance Work Location: In person
