As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to play a key leadership role in our pre-construction and bidding process. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who understands both the technical and financial aspects of commercial glazing and door systems and enjoys contributing to strategic project decisions. Position Overview The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and well-documented cost estimates for commercial glazing and overhead door projects. This role plays a critical part in bid strategy, risk assessment, and ensuring smooth project handoff to operations. Working closely with senior management, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors, the Senior Estimator helps ensure projects are priced correctly, risks are identified early, and opportunities for value engineering and profitability are maximized. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Pre-Construction Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents Perform accurate quantity take-offs and scope reviews Identify constructability concerns, risk items, and pricing opportunities Develop competitive bid strategies aligned with company goals Tendering & Pricing Solicit, review, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing Prepare bid summaries, scope letters, and tender submissions Ensure estimates reflect current market conditions and project risks Support value engineering and alternative pricing solutions Project Support Assist with project handover to operations and project management teams Support change order pricing and post-award estimating needs Maintain estimating databases, pricing tools, and historical cost data Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators as required Qualifications & Experience 35+ years of commercial estimating experience (glazing and/or overhead doors preferred) Strong knowledge of glazing systems, aluminum framing, glass products, and door systems Experience with public and private tenders Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously Clear communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Why Join Atlantic Windoor Senior-level role with influence over pricing and project selection Opportunity to work on high-profile commercial projects across Atlantic Canada Stable, growing company with a strong reputation in the industry Competitive compensation package based on experience Long-term career growth with leadership potential Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Casual Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year Benefits: Casual dress Company events Dental care Disability insurance Employee assistance program Extended health care Life insurance On-site parking Paid time off Relocation assistance Vision care Experience: Construction Estimating: 3 years (required) Language: English fluently (required) Work Location: In person
