Pathways Health Centre for Children, Sarnia Pathways Health Centre for Children is a charitable not-for-profit family-centred community agency serving children and youth with physical, developmental and communication needs. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, the Centre provides a full range of pediatric rehabilitation and support services, largely funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. In addition, Pathways offers a therapeutic pool, open to people of all ages and abilities in the community and has a licensed, integrated childcare service on site (C.A.C.H..). We are currently recruiting for a temporary replacement for a full-time: Resource Assistant (contract up to September 4, 2026 Under the direction of the Resource Consultant and the Supervisor of Community Services, Special Needs Resource Services, the Resource Assistant will provide resource support to children from birth to twelve years of age in community licensed childcare centres referred for the service. The Resource Assistant will support the education, consultation and direct support to children, parents and childcare staff to help ensure the inclusion of children who have special needs. The Resource Assistant will contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of client program(s) / service delivery and contribute to quality of care to clients through adherence to the professional standards of the service and the policies, procedures and routines of the community Childcare facility. The Resource Assistant is part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the children and families accessing these programs. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma, registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Education required A diploma/degree in a human services related program plus experience working with children with special needs and their families may also be considered Up to 2 years of experience within a childcare/school setting preferred Experience using visual strategies with children Cultural competency training is an asset Fluency in French an asset The successful candidate must have a valid Ontario driver''s license and maintain adequate liability insurance. A Vulnerable Sector Police Check is also required at time of hire (dated within the last 6 months) as well as proof of applicable vaccinations and immunizations.
