About the role Join the Housing Programs Team, in the Bilingual Senior Officer, Financing Operations position. In this role you will support projects approved under CMHCs Affordable Housing Fund program by managing the advancing of funds throughout the construction process until project completion. You will help ensure these multiunit housing projects funded by CMHC are successfully constructed or renovated, while ensuring that risks to CMHC are appropriately managed. We have multiple temporary positions available with a duration of 18 months. What you''ll do: Analyze, process and approve funding requests and monitor the ongoing construction of multiunit housing projects within your financial limits and budgetary authority. Review supporting documentation and professional thirdparty reports, such as, quantity surveyor reports, drawdown schedules and title searches to assess risks to CMHC and recommend appropriate solutions. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clients receive their funds as expected when funding conditions are met. Review loan agreements to ensure that clients continue to satisfy all the conditions outlined in their agreement and process amendments when necessary. Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives. What you should have: A bachelors degree in administration, finance, or accounting, or a combination of education and experience may be considered. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the finance and/or housing industry, such as construction financing commercial banking or housing development. Demonstrated client management skills with the ability to negotiate with clients and arrive at acceptable solutions. Ability to interpret program guidelines. Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills. Strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English). Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders. It would be great if you also had: A certification as a:Certified in Real Estate Finance (CRF), Certified Property Manager (CPM), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), Canadian Risk Manager (CRM) or Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation. Knowledge of underwriting principles and practices for multiunit housing projects. Experience in building reports and/or in using statistical analysis software such as MS Excel.
