What you will do: Lead the preconstruction phase of local projects, collaborating with stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets. Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and value engineering analyses to optimize project scope and budget. Manage the bidding process, including soliciting bids from subcontractors and vendors, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts. Review bid documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during preconstruction, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and presenting costsaving alternatives. Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish project goals, objectives, and design criteria. Supervise and mentor a team of estimators, providing guidance throughout the preconstruction process. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment focused on excellence in preconstruction services. Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities, developing strategies to mitigate risks and maximize project success. Conduct risk analyses and feasibility studies to inform decisionmaking and project planning. Implement process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and competitiveness. This role could be for you if you have: Bachelor''s degree or College Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in preconstruction management or a lead estimation role focused on building and infrastructure projects. Proficiency with construction estimating software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with meticulous attention to detail. A passion for motivating and effectively leading a team where collaboration and mentorship are key. Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Secret level clearance as required by project contracts. Additional assets include: Professional certifications such as Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Project Management Professional (PMP). Experience with designbuild, construction management atrisk (CMAR), or publicprivate partnership (P3) delivery methods.
