Position HVAC Technician Location Greater Quebec City Metropolitan Area Job Description The HVAC technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial environments. The role requires adherence to applicable codes and standards, providing superior service quality. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret plans, piping diagrams, and HVAC system schematics. Install, inspect, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Test systems for leaks, pressure, proper operation, and energy efficiency. Determine the layout of ductwork, piping, and connections, installing necessary supports. Cut, weld, braze, and assemble various types of piping and ductwork used in HVAC systems. Install, maintain, and repair control systems, thermostats, and safety devices. Troubleshoot HVAC problems, locate refrigerant leaks, airflow obstructions, and system failures. Perform preventive maintenance programs and keep accurate records. Ensure compliance with Quebec HVAC codes and current safety standards. Collaborate with project teams, other trades, and clients. Skills and Qualifications Valid HVAC Technician Qualification Certificate (e.g., Certificate of Qualification in Refrigeration, Ventilation, Heating, and Air Conditioning). Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Refrigeration, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or equivalent. Relevant experience in commercial or industrial HVAC sectors. Excellent knowledge of current HVAC codes and standards in Quebec. Ability to read and interpret technical plans and schematics. Proficiency with HVAC trade tools and equipment. Autonomy, rigor, and attention to detail. Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills. Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively. Valid drivers license (asset).
