The Opportunity: Scope of position: Reporting to the Applied HVAC Channel Manager, the successful candidate will have two primary responsibilities working with engineers to drive project specifications to HVAC/R brands within RSLs product portfolio and second, assist in pulling through subsequent projects through mechanical contractors. These two tasks will be completed by the successful candidate by positioning themselves as an indispensable resource for engineers, architects, end users and mechanical contractors alike. Duties and responsibilities: Build in-person relationships with consultants and mechanical contractors in the assigned region Lower Mainland. Assist out-of-region RSL team members with support for engineers as required. Conduct regular in-person calls to identify new opportunities and influence specifications responsibly, ensuring recommendations genuinely meet project needs and deliver the best value for all stakeholders. Manage and grow the applied sales funnel. Represent RSL at industry events (ASHRAE, RSES, local construction associations). Participate in factory trips with engineers and contractors as required. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory/code changes. Support strategic initiatives like new product line introductions and training. Perform equipment take-offs for equipment within our line card. Respond to internal RSL staff and customer inquiries, especially for off-catalog or engineered solutions. Prepare shop drawing & O&M packages. Maintain digital job boards and CRM action items. Assist with estimating and closing engineered jobs. Coordinate deliveries, resolve logistics issues, and support project management as required. Skills and Qualifications Relevant work experience in commercial HVAC. A bachelors degree or diploma in engineering or a related field, or equivalent qualifications as an HVAC technologist, is considered an asset but not required. Exceptional customer service with an aptitude for problem-solving. Proficient in reading and interpreting HVAC technical drawings and specifications. In-depth knowledge of applied HVAC products and VRF/VRV systems. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class 5 drivers license. Ability to travel internationally. Strong understanding of effective sales techniques. Skilled in managing orders, quotes, credits, and backorders through our ERP. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, complemented by active listening skills. Energetic, self-motivated, and capable of working seamlessly within a team. Professional, approachable attitude and committed to continuous personal and professional growth Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and familiar with our various manufacturers selection software suites and PDF editing tools.
