About the Role This is an in-person Business Development Manager role based out of our Bracebridge, ON office. You will work closely with the Founder and CEO to expand SKADIs presence in Canadian defence and government markets. This role is about relationships, credibility, and patience. Defence sales are not fast, but they are meaningful, strategic, and built on trust. Because of the nature of our work and the relationships involved, regular in-office presence is essential. Travel to Ottawa, defence industry events, and customer sites will be part of the role. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys navigating complexity, building trust over time, and helping shape how a young company shows up in a highly regulated space. What Youll Actually Do Youll be responsible for growing SKADIs defence and government footprint, working hand-in-hand with leadership and technical teams. Build and deepen relationships with Canadian defence primes, DND, and government agencies Navigate government procurement processes including RFPs, standing offers, and qualification frameworks Develop defence-focused marketing and sales materials such as capability statements and proposal content Represent SKADI at defence and government industry events, including trade shows and conferences Manage a long-cycle sales pipeline and move opportunities forward with care and discipline This is not a volume sales role. It is thoughtful, strategic work with room to influence how SKADI positions itself in the defence ecosystem. What Were Looking For Must Have Experience selling into Canadian defence or government sectors Strong understanding of government procurement processes Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills Ability to translate technical capabilities into value for non-technical decision-makers Ability to work full-time, in person, from our Bracebridge office Located in Northern Ontario or willing to relocate at your own expense Nice to Have Existing relationships with Canadian defence primes or DND Cybersecurity or adjacent technology industry experience Familiarity with ITAR, CMMC, or Canadian defence security requirements Military or government background How We Work This is an in-office role. While there is occasional flexibility, this is not a remote or hybrid-first position. We operate with a high level of trust and partnership. Youll have autonomy over how you approach your work, but youll never be working in isolation. Collaboration with leadership, engineering, and external partners is central to success here.
