Overview We are seeking a Commodity Manager - Metallic to join our Purchasing team supporting the Automotive business at Leggett & Platt Automotive. This role focuses on global strategy development, sourcing, and supplier relationship management for metallic components and raw materials within the automotive sector. Responsibilities Lead the development of global procurement strategies for components and raw materials, optimizing yearoveryear improvements in cost, quality, and support of ongoing business and strategic priorities. Partner with crossfunctional leadership to establish mutual goals that align with strategic plans. Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders; secure crossfunctional buyin to commodity strategies, develop comprehensive communication and execution plans. Execute contracts reflecting sourcing initiative results, managing business and supply risks with appropriate legal terms and conditions. Foster performancebased relationships with external suppliers; monitor all risks within the commodity supply base and adapt procurement strategies for mitigation actions. Identify areas of suboptimized cost and value within the commodity, and implement remedial actions. Define and implement a commodity valueoptimization strategy in collaboration with the procurement team (regional procurement, SD, logistics). Support productivity actions for the commodity in regions related to global material spend, evaluate feasibility of productivity ideas and ensure implementation. Consolidate worldwide activities and apply the commodity strategy of the category in the region. Ensure financial commodity tracking on a monthly basis from the regional financial controller input. Qualifications Bachelors degree in finance, technical discipline, or related field. Minimum 5 years of category/commodity management experience with global responsibilities. Manufacturing environment experience; automotive experience preferred. Experience building cost models to understand shouldcost and applying the knowledge to achieve results. Highly analytical with strong communication, interpersonal, written and verbal skills. Highly motivated and able to work in a fastpaced environment.
